The kits are packed with everything you need to become a Monarch Ambassador, and with kit in hand, you can help to create a real butterfly effect across Quebec to save the monarchs, which are in deep trouble.
Get the kits at a monarch workshop on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Centre for Sustainable Development, at 50 Ste-Catherine St. W., in the Salle Du Parc.
Anyone — of any age — can become a Monarch Ambassador. The kits are made for citizens, schools, community gardens and organizations.
Each one contains:
30 bags of milkweed seeds
30 postcards
30 tattoos of butterflies
1 campaign poster Butterfly Effect
10 butterfly coloring books
Monarch populations are at historic lows. You can read more about the problem at the David Suzuki Foundation here. You’ll find info there about milkweed plants, too.
The event is free, but you need to register here. The organizer is Julie Roy. Shoot her any questions at jroy@davidsuzuki.org. No need to print your ticket once you have registered.
